Welcome to the Atlantic Provinces!

We grant wishes to create hope and happiness for children with life-threatening illnesses throughout Atlantic Canada. Established in 2001, our growing Chapter includes Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland & Labrador.

Jason's Wish

Jason Lawes is a 17 year old who has a life-threatening medical condition known as Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome. He also deals with Type 1 diabetes. He’s been through a lot in his young life.

Dealing with a life-threatening illness is stressful for anyone but particularly when it involves children. Experiencing a wish can bring much needed, carefree respite from a daily routine of hospitals, medications, and treatments. When a wish is experienced, children and families feel renewed sense of strength and hope and can better deal with what lies ahead.

Jason’s a Grade 11 student at Menihek High School. Accompanying Jason was his mom and dad and his younger brother, Garrett (age 14). The family experienced a weekend jam-packed with fun and entertainment. There is a global network at work to make events like the WWE experience happening this year. Make-A-Wish has chapters in over 45 countries around the world. Make-A-Wish America has arranged for over 30 wish families from USA and Canada to come together for this special weekend-long event from March 30 to April 1 in Miami, FL.

Jason experienced a meet & greet with the WWE stars on Friday night; enjoyed Jungle Island Bird Sanctuary on Saturday afternoon and was welcomed into the Wish Kids Circle of Champions by a WWE Superstar. And the big day was Sunday with WWE Axxes. Jason and family attended WrestleMania that night creating memories that will last a lifetime. Jason tells us that his favorite wrestlers are John Cena, Batista, Triple H, Kane, and Ray Mysterio. We hope that he met them all and has brought home many stories and memories to brighten up the days ahead.

Jade's Wish

Westin Nova Scotian helps make Wishes come true!

On Friday, April 13th, eighteen-year-old Jade Tripp will travel to Halifax for her Wish experience of a Shopping Spree. She’ll spend all day Saturday at the Halifax Shopping Centre buying, jeans, shoes, bikini, and electronics. It’s also her graduating year, so she hopes to find that perfect dress for the special Prom as well. Happy shopping Jade!

Her wish was made possible by fundraising efforts of both Dany and Catherine Falle.

Annabelle's Wish

This beautiful ballerina is Annabelle. Just like many little 5 year old girls, her favorite colour is pink. She loves animals, soccer, Sponge Bob, music and art. Annabelle lives in Prospect, NS, with her sister, Claire, mom, dad, and her dog, Charlotte.

She’s an energetic and talented child. Her cancer hasn’t stopped her from being a normal kid. She has T-Cell Lymphoblastic Lymphoma. It sounds scary. For most of us, it would be. But time and time again, our wish kids prove to us the real meaning of heroes and bravery.

When Annabelle’s parents first asked her about what her wish would be, she excitedly told them that she’d like to “have no more needles; slide down a rainbow; ride a unicorn; or bake cookies & cupcakes”. She tells us that “her best day ever” was when she visited her grandparents in Quebec and went to the amusement park.

Her magical rainbow and unicorn wishes might not come true, but she is going to the next best place, Disney World. Experiencing the marvelous theme parks offered in Orlando and meeting her favorite characters, like Sponge Bob and princesses, will surely be a dream come true for a sweet girl who’s been through so much.
