Volunteers are the heart and soul of Make-A-Wish^® Atlantic Provinces. It is only through the hard work and commitment of our volunteers across our region that we are able to continue granting more wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions each year.

We salute you and thank you! By volunteering with Make-A-Wish, you will be able to contribute your valuable time, talent and expertise to bring unforgettable moments of joy to the lives of children.

Volunteers organize our special events, sit on our Board of Directors, help in the office, and work with us as wish grantors. Please contact us if you would like to donate your time and talent to make children’s wishes come true!

2011 Volunteer Spirit Award Winner

Lesley Rideout

Lesley Rideout first became inspired to be involved with Make-A-Wish^® Atlantic Provinces when she was enrolled in an Advanced PR course at Nova Scotia Community College. Now a Newfoundlander, Lesley has been a Wish Granting volunteer with Make-A-Wish Atlantic Provinces for the just over three years. She has granted seven wishes in her region of St. John’s, NL.

Lesley is a terrific listener and has a gentle manner to make others around her feel comfortable. A perfect quality as a wish grantor! She’s ready, willing, and able to partner with other volunteers to bring her wealth of experience and caring to the forefront.

Lesley is recently married yet still finds time to give to her community. During her honeymoon in Florida, she took time out to visit Give Kids The World Village for a resort tour. She saw first-hand where wish kids from around the world stay while visiting Disney World. Now that’s dedication!

We, at Make-A-Wish^® Atlantic Provinces, believe that Lesley is deserving of recognition. She is a kind, warm, and giving person that connects well with our wish families. On behalf of our organization and for the impact she’s made on the lives of our Wish Kids, Make-A-Wish® sends a heartfelt thanks to Lesley for all of her marvelous contributions towards continuing our mission.
