Our Mission
Is to grant wishes to create hope and happiness for children with life-threatening illnesses throughout Northern Alberta.

Who We Are
We are the Northern Alberta chapter of the largest and most well known international children’s wish granting organization which is present in over 30 countries and on 5 continents worldwide. Our national office is located in Toronto; there are 8 wish granting chapters across Canada with trained volunteers dedicated to bringing the magic to children in their community.

We serve the northern part of Alberta (Red Deer north) and work closely with other ‘Wish’ chapters from around the world for wishes located in our region.

Quick Facts about Make-A-Wish Northern Alberta

• Since our inception, we have increased the number of wishes granted each year, from 8 in 1998 to 38 in 2006. We granted 40 wishes in 2007.  Our goal for 2008 is 50.
• We do not solicit wishes - we wait for them to be referred to us.
• We ensure a granted wish is very personal to the individual child, involves the family and is free from financial worries. We ask the family to be a part of the wish experience, knowing that parents and siblings need magical moments just as much as the wish child.
