October was a great month for our Foundation, with two partners offering their time and talent to organize an event.

Comedy for a Kids’ Cause
To apply all the knowledge and skills they’d acquired in their Event Planning and Management course, 15 students from John Abbott College decided to organize their first fundraiser for our Foundation.

On October 14, over 300 guests were invited to the Bourbon Club in Pointe-Claire to attend a show starring four talented comedians. A draw, grab-bag sale and silent auction of luxury items raised the sum of $11,600.

We sincerely thank all the team members who put the evening together and congratulate them on their success: Bianca Bellisario, Christian Orfali, Colette Ainsworth, Danielle Paquin, Elizabeth Chevrier, Jasvinder Sethi, Josée Bergeron, Lise Goodine, Michelle Barbeau, Milan Nenadovich, Natalie Choo-Foo, Renuka Sharma, Sandra Racicot and the incomparable Renée Ménard, who liaised between the Foundation and CEGEP. Our warm congratulations also go to the students’ teacher, Linda Drisdell.

A Big Magic Party!
On September 7, Marie-Pier Charron celebrated her 30th birthday. To mark the big day, she decided to give herself a very special gift: she organized a big party so she could meet her readers. She also had the great idea of linking the party with two organizations dedicated to children: Make-a-Wish® Québec and the Fondation pour la promotion de la pédiatrie sociale, founded by the renowned Dr. Julien. She set herself the goal of raising $30,000, to be divided between both organizations.
