Last year was the inaugural “Fleecy Ladies” blanket making event, where a talented group of friends decided to get together to make fleece blankets for the wish children in Southern Alberta. An impressive start to their goal, seventeen women cut, knotted, and embroidered their way to making 28 fleece blankets in one day.



On October 17, 2009, the same 17 women (with an addition of 17 more) decided to do it again. And in just under 8 hours, 45 unique fleece blankets were made for our Wish Children!!

These women have proven that strength in numbers really can make extraordinary things happen. We, at Make-A-Wish Southern Alberta, cannot express our gratitude and appreciation enough to these ladies who dedicated an entire day to give back to our Wish Children.
