We're back, and had the most wonderful time in Florida! Give Kids the World was amazing. I still can't believe the resort; it had everything we needed and more. The kids loved every minute of it there, and the staff and volunteers made it feel like home for us each and every day. Each morning after breakfast (which was always delicious) the boys would immediately head out to the carrousel for a ride or two before we would head out to one of the parks for the day. Then when we returned each night to an amazing meal, and yummy ice cream for dessert, there was always something fun to do. Ryan loved the games room, and the castle of miracles. Jordan loved the dinosaur minigolf course. They both loved driving the boats, and of course the train room. That was so cool! There was always something going on for us to enjoy.
We started with the Magic Kingdom. The boys loved everything about it there, especially "Buzz Lightyear Spaceranger Spin", which we seamed to go on over and over. They also had a blast driving their own cars at the Speedway. Ryan's very favorite ride was "It's a Small World", he loved all of the different singing dolls from each country, and the fact that he got to ride in a boat. We definitely hit this ride more than once! He even went in "The Haunted Mansion" but got a little bit scared when he saw a ghost sitting between us in the chair, so we only went the one time.
The second day we went to Seaworld. We got to feed the dolphins, which was just awesome. Ryan was a bit tentative to touch them, but definitely loved to throw his fish into their mouths. Jordan on the other hand, got his share of rubbing their chins and backs. The shows were cool, and we sat in the "Soak Zone" for Shamu, but his splash didn't quite get us. The boys were a bit annoyed at this - we were happy!!
The third day we went to Disney MGM Hollywood Studios, which was amazing. "Toy Story Mania" was our first stop, and the boys both loved shooting everything on this ride. Star Wars is a favorite of both the boys, and so of course, "Star Tours" was a must. Unfortunately, Ryan was too short for the ride, so he waited (not very happily) for Jordan and his dad to go, and then again for Jordan and myself to go on it. Luckily, they were doing a Star Wars show just outside the ride. They chose about 10 kids to go onstage to "train" as padawans or jedi's with light sabers with a jedi knight, and then suddenly the music would start, and two Storm Troopers would come out of the ship, followed by Darth Vader. The kids who trained would then; one by one have light saber battles with Darth Vader. Ryan, went up and trained, and battled Darth Vader. We were so proud of him, because Darth Vader was quite intimidating, even Jordan wouldn't go up! Ryan insisted, and he almost ran up - no fear, he was quite proud of himself!
The fourth and fifth days were at Universal. The attractions there are so "real", it’s just so amazing. We started with Shrek, of course. Both the boys loved it. Its 3-D, and the seats moved while you watched the movie. Then when donkey sneezed, you actually got sprayed a little bit! Ryan was trying to grab everything that was 3-D - it was hilarious.
The last day was back at the Magic Kingdom to catch anything that was missed the first day, and to go back on everything that they loved.
