“I wish to have a Shopping Spree at Best Buy”

The white limousine pulled up to the doors at Best Buy in St. Catharines, Jules the Limousine driver of Central Taxi & Limo, opened the door & the red carpet was put down for Alisha.

All the staff stood clapping to welcome Alisha. Her VIP shopping cart decorated in balloons & already filled with Hannah Montana games and movies waited for her. Alisha’s wish started with the laptops. She and her mother carefully examined the variety of laptops with the “computer geek” staff as he was referred to. It wasn’t long before she spotted the copper tone laptop. The computer whiz “geek” staff went to work loading programs as Alisha continued her shopping.

The TV for her room was next on her list. She knew exactly what she wanted and Mike the manager followed her and made some suggestions which she loved. Alisha explained how small her room was and Mike had the solution; mount the flat screen TV on the wall.

The Wii and Wii Fit had already been put aside as these hot items don’t last long in the store. Alisha squealed as Mike brought them out. Next on her list, the IPOD! The IPod touch & docking station were added to her cart. A digital camera was next on Alisha’s list. She chose wisely, an underwater camera!

By this time Alisha’s mom, Scarlet started wiping tears away explaining how happy she was to see Alisha smile so much. Having been diagnosed with cystic fibrosis Alisha spends a lot of time fighting infections at Sick Kids. But today, the 23rd of February was Alisha’s day! Thanks goodness for the balloons, sometimes it was the only way to find her as she went from aisle to aisle. There were movies, Wii games, laptop accessories, and so much more. As Mike added things up (discounting the whole time) he found there was still more to be spent. Alisha squealed and went off shopping more. This time it was Play Station 2 which had hand mikes for karaoke, drums and a guitar.

Alisha finally ran out of steam and sat herself down, balloons attached to her wrist.

Alisha thanked everyone at Best Buy and like a large family, a group picture was taken for all of our memories.

As Alisha waited for Jules to return with the Limousine she was non-stop talking about calling her two best friends and inviting them over. She thought a homemade dinner was waiting for her at home, but there was yet another surprise. Alisha, her mom, dad and sister were all settled back into the limousine and we followed each other to her favorite restaurant, The Red Lobster. Coaxed by her mom, Alisha had kept her head down so as not to see where they were until Jules opened the door.

Once again Alisha squealed!
After many hugs, they went off to enjoy a delicious dinner & I’m sure a non-stop talking 12 year old Alisha.
