Kayleigh is an energetic 10 year-old who likes the color purple, chocolate ice cream, the Bayshore shopping center and swimming. She suffers from a genetic condition called Wolf-Hirchhorn Syndrome. This life-threatening condition leads to congenital heart defects, seizures as well as kidney and respiratory problems.
Thanks to the Ottawa Valley Insurance Adjusters Association (OVAA), Make-A-Wish Eastern Ontario was able to bring strength, hope and joy to Kayleigh and her family by sending her for a week to Disney World and the Give Kids the World resort in Orlando. Funds for Kayleigh’s wish were raised by the OVAA through a curling bonspiel on March 27th at the Nepean Sportsplex.
As Kayleigh’s mom explains: “Kayleigh loves to watch people and children, especially when they are playing. She enjoys going to fairs & loves the rides. Disneyworld was the perfect place for her to do so and meet the characters she loves so much. We were in a magical place where people are happy and accepting. We are grateful for this wonderful experience.”
