Emily is a cheerful and busy three year old girl.  Emily has multiple health issues, including Down's Syndrome, pulmonary hypertension and in the future will require a liver and lung transplant.  When the wish grantors arrived at the home to ask Emily what she wished for, her mom's response was: "We wish to have a fun/safe basement for Emily to play in."  After spending time with Emily and Liza we realized this was the wish for Emily.

With help from LeeDavid Landscapes Inc.and numerous other companies who have donated product and time, Emily’s wish was put together in one week. (Liza and Emily were away on holidays)

From the soft blue, yellow and red walls, to the toys, shelves, table chairs and LCD TV, DVD and especially the wish tree which was designed around the basement pole this could not have happened without the help from LeeDavid Landscapes. Neil mentioned “it took me 10 evenings in the basement dreaming up the Wish Tree, and then having incredible fun building and installing it. I know many of you thought I was nuts, but it turned out really cool !!


Countless hours and volunteers worked hard to complete the basement before Liza and Emily’s arrival back home from their trip. The wish grantors as well as Neil and Ian from LeeDavid Landscapes were at the home to surprise the family upon their arrival.

After only 2 hours of sleep due to traveling and a short nap Emily was so excited she spent the evening showing off her room to family and friends. Liza and Emily were so overwhelmed by everything. "Emily loves her room so much that she doesn't want to leave it," Liza said”. “I had to pull her away from all the fun to put her to bed”.

The new surroundings, colors and textures all help to stimulate Emily’s senses. Emily has been smiling and giggling a lot since her wish came true!
